The production of a music video or video clip can serve as an attraction for a musical creation besides providing the artist or creator with increased exposure in public.
With a storyline, it encourages the audience to listen and persuades them to purchase.
In order to guide young artists, Luncai Emas Sdn. Bhd. (Luncai Emas) Production Company took the initiative to share knowledge and experience with arts and music video enthusiasts in Perak via the organisation of a music video production and copyright workshop at the Ipoh Town Hall. It saw the participation of about 100 young talents who were mostly Perakeans.
It was held in collaboration with National Film Development Corporation (FINAS), Ipoh City Council and the state government with support from the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (IRAMA).
Throughout the two-day workshop from March 27 to 28, participants were given vital tips by the professional panel members made up of Datuk Jurey Latiff, experienced film producer and director and Damian Ng, experienced editor.
Participants were also exposed to methods of publishing a music video and the editing process.
Jennifah Johari, director of copyrights of Luncai Emas and also one of the panel members, presented on the importance of music copyrights. Jennifah is also the director of Music Authors Copyright Protection Berhad (MACP).
Meanwhile, director of productions of Luncai Emas and famous lyricist, Keon Omar provided guidance on the marketing of a recording, whether music or video, on digital media.
The highlight of the workshop was a session with Datuk M.Nasir who is the managing director of Luncai Emas and a renowned national composer with over 40 years of experience in the music industry.
Established 30 years ago, Luncai Emas has created 4,000 songs with 100 composers and more than 10 music groups.
