Perak Solar Project Initiative to Generate More Economic Opportunities

More renewable energy sources will be utilised in the state through the Perak Solar Project Initiative, a joint effort between the state government via the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP) and Gading Kencana Sdn Bhd (GKSB).

GKSB is a bumiputera-owned renewable energy services provider company established in 1993, specialising in solar technology, as well as photovoltaic (PV) solar panel system design and installation.

According to the chief executive of PKNP, Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak, the corporation will be exploring new prospects in the solar energy industry to open up opportunities and value-added economic spaces in a multitude of sectors.

“The solar project covers macro and meso-level prospects to improve the overall support of physical amenities and to provide support services for industrial areas. This is able to bring a huge impact to the provision of a conducive environment to generate income and spur the state economy.”

He told reporters during a media session after signing an agreement for the Perak Solar Project Initiative at the state secretariat building earlier today (April 21).

The Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad witnessed the signing session, with GKSB represented by managing director Dato’ Dr Ir. Muhamad Guntor Mansor Tobeng. Also present was State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim.

“The solar project is a positive progress by the state government of Perak to generate more economic opportunities in the solar energy sector. Hopefully, the industry here flourishes rapidly and in an orderly manner,” Muhamad Guntor expressed.
