MB Undergoing 14-day Quarantine

Menteri Besar of Perak, Datuk Saarani Mohamad is currently undergoing a 14-day quarantine period after being discovered to be a close contact to a positive COVID-19 patient.

Menteri Besar Political Secretary, Datuk Sham Mat Sahat explained that he received information that Saarani is required to undergo quarantine beginning today (April 29) till May 11, after becoming a close contact to the individual when attending a programme in Lenggong.

According to him, Saarani informed at 5pm that he could not attend the State Nuzul Al-Quran 2021 Celebration at the Sultan Idris Shah II Mosque yesterday evening.

“He also requested me to represent him at a breaking fast event at Batu Kurau this Friday as he is under quarantine.

“However, I have yet to receive full information and thus cannot explain further,” he told the press after the event at the mosque which was graced by Sultan Nazrin Shah.

He added that Saarani was told to undergo quarantine after chairing the state executive council (EXCO) meeting yesterday followed by a media conference at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building.

He also launched the Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building yesterday with the Director of Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk), Datuk Mohd. Yusop Husin in attendance. The plan outlines matters pertaining to integrity and responsibilities to combat corruption among others.
