After about two years of service as the Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz left when he was appointed as the Putrajaya District Police Chief.

His former position in the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD) was taken over by ACP Yahaya Hassan who was previously the Deputy Chief of police of Hilir Perak District.

Asmadi, 55, started his job as the Ipoh District Police Chief in October 2019 after transferring from the Alor Gajah District Police force.

Asmadi is well liked by his fellow colleagues as well as the media in matters involving criminal and police cases for his amicable and approachable persona.

Asmadi thanked every party who lent him their assistance and cooperation, as well as the Ipoh IDP through a WhatsApp message.

“Thank you for your service and assistance to the Ipoh Police District. Hopefully we’ll cross paths in the future. In the meantime, please comply with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),” he said.
