AMCAA Education Fund Sponsorship Programme

The Ave Maria Convent Alumni Association Ipoh (AMCAA) has initiated an Education Fund Sponsorship Programme to assist the students in need who are currently studying at SMJK and SJK (C) Ave Maria Convent Ipoh to enable them to attend tuition classes or to purchase electronic devices or mobile data plans for online classes. This is in view of the financial hardship faced by their families due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To date, AMCAA, along with some generous AMC Alumni, have pledged a total of RM30,000 for the above purpose. A total of 38 students in need have been identified through interviews with the families concerned and some form of financial aid has been distributed to them on a monthly basis.

AMCAA wishes to appeal to all the AMC Alumni to contribute either in cash or kind to this Education Fund.

President Moy Ooi Thye hopes that this message can reach as many Alumni as possible and with the collective effort of everyone, any amount of donation will be highly appreciated. “One day your act of generosity and concern may help to nurture a set of potential high achievers in their respective careers and endeavors,” she said.

AMCAA also hopes to have this information shared to as many people as possible in an invitation to participate in the Education Fund Sponsorship Programme. The more funds they are able to obtain, the longer they will be able to help the students, and the more students they can assist when the need arises.
