Lorry Fire at Bercham, No Victims Reported 

A fire broke out in a lorry near SMK Bercham in Ipoh earlier today (June 23).

A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) stated that an emergency call was received at around 11.34am.

“Upon arrival of a squad and a vehicle from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), the one-tonne lorry which was empty, had already been consumed by the fire, with damages around 50 percent.

“The squad, with assistance from the Bercham volunteer fire brigade (PBS), proceeded to extinguish the fire using a water-based hose reel.

“The fire was brought under control by 12.14pm. No victims were involved,” he explained, adding that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Mohammad Fauzi Abd Aziz.
