The longer the lockdowns continue, the suffering of many continues. Many have lost their jobs and many households are struggling to feed their families.
The recent movement, #benderaputih or white flag is an initiative to encourage and help people who are struggling to put food on the table. Putting up a white flag outside the home is actually a sign of courage. It signifies a willingness to share your plight and you are not ashamed of asking for help to feed your family.
As more people are seen supporting the White Flag campaign to help those in need, more businesses, organisations and individuals have also shown generosity in lending a hand to aid the needy in the community.
In addition to the White Flag campaign of asking for help, many people and business establishments are “doing their own thing” by putting food outside their premises. Anyone who needs food essentials can drop by and pick up the items at any nearby food banks.
