House Collapsed, Worker Injured

A house at Buntong suffered a structural collapse earlier today (July 14), leaving a worker with injuries on his left ankle.

A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said that an emergency call was received at around 11.31am.

“Upon the arrival of a squad and a vehicle from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), the A-class house of 24×60 feet was found with its roof collapsed.

“The victim, aged 40, who was with his colleague, was believed to be on top of the house’s ceiling when the incident occurred. They were in the midst of renovating the house. The other worker, however, was unscathed.

“The squad provided preliminary treatment to the victim and subsequently brought him to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) Ipoh for further actions,” he explained.

The operation which ended at around 11.50am was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Mohd Fauzi Abd Aziz.
