A fire broke out in an empty shop lot located at Jalan C.M. Yusoff in Ipoh in the wee hours today (July 16).
A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) stated that an emergency call regarding the situation was received at around 12.07am.
“Upon arrival of a squad and a vehicle from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), the A-class shop lot of 20×40 feet was already consumed by the fire, with damages around 50 percent.
“The squad proceeded to extinguish the fire using a hose reel. The fire was brought under control by 12.50am.
“No victims were involved,” he explained, adding that investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Mahir Mat Saad.
