465 Detained For Flouting SOPs

A total of 465 individuals were arrested, with 438 of them compounded for breaching the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the National Recovery Plan (PPN).

The nationwide enforcement yesterday (July 27) also recorded 27 more individuals remanded.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said, a total of 60 premises consisting 12 factories were ordered to close for violating SOPs.

“The task force inspected 1,736 factories, 15,572 business premises, 990 construction sites and 344 workers’ dormitories,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Yesterday marked his first assignment as Senior Minister (Security Cluster) after taking over the position from Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. 

Ismail Sabri, who is the Minister of Defence, also currently holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister.

Hishammuddin, who is also the Foreign Minister said a total of 14 illegal immigrants were also detained and four land vehicles were seized yesterday via the Benteng Operation.

As for the mandatory quarantine, 380 individuals arrived in the country yesterday.

A total of 9,280 are still undergoing compulsory quarantine at 83 hotels and 11 public as well as private training institutions nationwide.
