Food Packs for PPV Volunteers

Some 480 food packs were contributed to volunteers of the vaccination centre (PPV) at Stadium Indera Mulia by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) under the MBI Prihatin programme here today (July 29).

The Mayor of Ipoh Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin said that the contribution, which was also a joint effort with Econsave Jelapang, is a form of appreciation towards the volunteers.

“They’ve been frontliners in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Hopefully, the food packs lessen their burdens and brighten up their daily work in assisting vaccination affairs at the PPV,” he told reporters, adding that the programme will be expanded to other PPVs in Ipoh.

Present to receive the food packs was the chief coordinator of the PPV Dr Nirwan Oksa, who’s also a medical officer for Kinta District Health Office, along with City Councillor Khoo Boon Chuan.

Also in attendance were Econsave Northern Division 2 general manager Chua Yong Chiang and Jelapang branch manager Shah Effendy Rosman.
