Celebrating National Day with Media Members of Perak

Media members of Perak joined hands with the state-level Information Department to celebrate the month of independence today (August 30).

According to the Perak Information Department director, Mohd Taip Ubah, the celebration was to foster close-knit relationships between the department and media members from both print and online outlets.

“Media organisations have been constant strategic partners of the government in the dissemination of news to the general public.

“As such, the department had always organised events where media members were invited to participate. The most recent one was ‘Kembara Media Perak’ back in 2019, where they were brought to historical locations around the state.

“However, due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting new normal, the department has not been organising events as of late.

“With that said, in conjunction with the upcoming 64th National Day of Malaysia, it’s now more important than ever to instil a sense of love for the country among citizens and thus, we humbly appreciate the media’s everlasting assistance in that aspect.

“Hopefully, we (Malaysians) continue to live in peace and harmony above all, while staying happy, healthy and safe.”

He said during a media session after distributing Jalur Gemilang flags and magnetic stickers to fellow media practitioners at the Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah Complex here in Ipoh today.

Also present were the department’s deputy director, Hassan Ashaari and director of the state-level National Security Council (MKN), Khairul Ridzuan Mat Said.
