Do Not Postpone Light and Sound Project Construction Any Longer

AJ We Care, a local NGO, urged the Ipoh City Council (MBI) to speed up the ongoing light and sound project at Ipoh Padang.

According to its president, Roslan Ali, the project was said to be completed by January this year, but construction is still seen being actively carried out as of time of writing.

“Please think of poor Ipohites around the city who could only afford to bring their children to the field for recreational activities.

“The never-ending construction is an unpleasant sight to every visitor. It’s also heartbreaking to see the field left in such an unkempt state.”

He told reporters during a media session at Ipoh Padang here today (September 7).

Roslan added that the areas involved in the construction were used for cricket, hockey and football training, not to mention that the field is gazetted as a historical site in Ipoh.

“With that said, the construction project is preventing the public from going to the field to relax and enjoy the scenery.

“Thus, we hope that the government and other relevant authorities pay immediate attention towards the project and make sure that the construction is completed as soon as possible,” he stressed.
