Youth Gopeng is collaborating with AEON Kinta City and Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun to organise a blood donation campaign on Malaysia Day (September 16).
The campaign will be held at AEON Kinta City from 10.30am to 4pm. All blood donors will receive a goodie bag. The public can also participate in a fun quiz to see how well they know our country, with winners eligible to receive a special prize.
The Chairman of Youth Gopeng , Cally Ting said in a statement that the supply at the hospital’s blood bank has fallen below the optimal level during MCO and pandemic. Therefore, she is appealing to the public to continue donating blood.
“The declining trend of blood donation would affect the ability to treat patients. Thus, organising a blood donation campaign during Malaysia Day is very meaningful because it is a life-saving show of patriotism.”
She reassured that the blood donation process will prioritise the donors’ safety and comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
“It is recommended to refrain from donating blood for seven days after one’s first or second dose of vaccines to ensure that the blood donor is at optimal health,” she added.
