Acryl Sani’s Service as IGP Extended for Two More Years

The service of Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) will be extended for another two years on a contract basis.

Acryl Sani, who will be turning 60 on October 3 and is due for mandatory retirement early next month, is appointed on a contract basis beginning this October 4 to October 3, 2023

The appointment ceremony was completed by the Home Minister, Dato’ Seri Hamzah Zainudin in Bukit Aman today (September 29).

Acryl Sani was previously appointed as the 13th IGP on May 3 to replace Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador who retired after extending his service for two years on contract.

Hailing from Petaling Jaya, Selangor, he graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia with a Master of Science (Management) and a Bachelor (Hons) of Civil Engineering. He joined PDRM in 1986 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Cadet.

Among the senior positions that Acryl has held are Terengganu Police Chief in 2006, Perak Police Chief (2013), Sarawak Police Commissioner (2011-2013) and Director of the Department of Internal Security and Public Order (2018-2020).
