Lotus Ipoh Supermarket Temporarily Closed for Sanitisation Work

The Lotus Ipoh supermarket (formerly Tesco) in Bercham is temporarily closed starting today for disinfection work following the emergence of positive COVID-19 cases.

Lotus Malaysia management in a statement said that a comprehensive disinfection and sanitisation procedure will be carried out after obtaining advice from the Ministry of Health (MOH).

According to the statement, the closure order was following several supermarket staff who tested positive for COVID-19.

“We are also working with the local authorities to ensure all relevant measures are taken and will conduct a disinfection process.

“This is to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our customers and colleagues,” the statement said.

Following the closure, the supermarket apologized for the inconvenience caused to customers.

The reopening of Lotus Ipoh supermarket will be announced later.
