Newest Attraction: Tapah Street Arts Mural

Visitors who often use the Tapah route to Cameron Highlands will be amazed by the newest attraction at Tapah town.

Given the name, Tapah Street Arts Mural, the artwork is set to reboost Tapah as a hotspot for tourists to drop by, said Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin binti Dato’ Mohammed Radzi.

“The location of Tapah Street Arts Mural is along the route near Tapah on the way to Cameron Highlands.

“This is also an initiative to enliven the building alleys which are safe and strategic. It also provides a positive impact as it imparts educational messages via painting,” she explained.

She said so when officiating the Tapah Street Arts Mural and Fun Map Batang Padang at Tapah recently.

Present were the Yang Dipertua of Tapah District Council, Muhamad Sahlan Husnin; Director of Tourism Malaysia Northern Region, Shahrul Aman Sabir Ahmad; CEO of Tourism Perak, Nurmalis Musa and Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia@MOTAC Perak, Asrul Zakaria.

According to Nolee, the Arts Night Bazaar is another attraction that is able to create space and business opportunities for the youth. It can also create an arts hub at Tapah for the creative youths.

“I hope the completed Fun Map Batang Padang can be made into a source of reference for visitors and tourists coming to the Batang Padang district.

“At the same time, I hope the tourism spots in the Batang Padang district can be promoted more extensively not only within Malaysia, but also at an international level.”
