‘Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia’ Programme Boosts Domestic Tourism Industry

The second series of the ‘Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia’ (JCCM) programme provides an opportunity for members of the public to get attractive packages of domestic tourism.

Director-general of Tourism Malaysia, Dato’ Zainuddin Abdul Wahab stated that the JCCM programme is among the efforts to increase the redemptions of discounts, vouchers and rebates under the Tourism Recovery Plan 2022 which is a continuation of the Economic Stimulus Package (PRE 1.0).

“This 3-day roadshow will be held at AEON Mall Kinta City, Ipoh from May 27 to 29. The objectives include to increase the promotion of domestic tourism in line with the country’s transition to the endemic phase.

“More than 25 industry players take part in the roadshow offering holiday packages and entry tickets at attractive prices. It involves product operators, tourism agencies, hotels, theme parks and transportation companies.

“After this, the JCCM programme will be held at seven other locations nationwide. We hope such roadshows will further increase the competitiveness of the domestic tourism industry,” he said to the media in conjunction with the programme at AEON Kinta City today. 

The JCCM programme will be held at seven other locations: AEON Mall Nilai (June 3-5), AEON Mall Bukit Tinggi, Klang (July 22-24), Blue Atrium, Sunway Pyramid (August 26-28), AEON Mall Shah Alam (September 2-4), AEON Mall Kota Bharu (September 23-25), AEON Mall Tebrau City (October 7-9) and AEON Mall Bandaraya Melaka (November 25-27). 

Present was the CEO of Tourism Perak, Nurmalis Musa.

At the same time, Zainuddin also presented prizes to the winners of the Tourism Malaysia Photo Challenge 2021. 

There were 447 participations with 2,319 pictures contested in four categories in the competition held from 11 December 2021 till 11 February 2022. 

According to him, the competition was aimed to encourage domestic tourism activities and search for creative talents among Malaysians via the use of any kind of camera.

“It also provides an opportunity to explore the interesting cultures and destinations in the country.

“All the creations will be owned by Tourism Malaysia to be used as promotional material for domestic and international tourism.

The category of ‘Extreme Shot’ was won by Muhd Dhiyaulhaq Mohd Hatta; ‘Nature, Art & Culture’ by Yong Hui Peng; ‘Human Interest’ by Mohd Nazri Bin Sulaiman and ‘Past & Present’ by Liew Leng Zheng. 

All first place winners received a Sony A7 Mark 3 camera and domestic holiday package worth RM15,000.00.
