MBI’s Free Bin Distribution Is Going Smoothly

More than 40,000 garbage bins have already been distributed free of charge to residential and business owners around the city.

In addition to the distribution done by the Ipoh City Council (MBI), concessionaires under Majuperak Holdings have also helped in the distribution.

The Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said residences and businesses will receive a total of 230,000 bins with 190,000 bins meant for residential areas.

“Basically, we have distributed 40,000 garbage bins or more than 22 percent to the residences in this city.

“Currently the distribution process is going smoothly through the efforts of MBI Council Members in their respective zones,” he told reporters.

The distribution of free bins to residents is an initiative of MBI to ensure that their respective areas are free from illegal waste.

Through the provision of garbage bins, each house has a responsibility to ensure that trash is not placed outside the bins, which could invite the presence of wild animals.

Meanwhile, MBI Council Member Zone 14, Dr. Richard Ng wants residents who receive free bins to use the gift as much as possible.

He said this is because in some areas there are still a few residents who continue the old attitude of hanging garbage bags on electricity poles, doors or even house fences.

“This is because the purpose of the trash bins is given so that residents can manage trash properly while garbage collection can also be carried out more smoothly,” he said.
