Minister of Youth and Sports, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu expressed his happiness for the Malaysian contingent at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, who have shown a commendable performance so far.
The success of the weightlifter, Mohamad Aniq Kasdan contributed the country’s first gold medal, while breaking the tournament record, surpassing all expectations placed on him.
According to Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Mohamad Aniq’s excellence was continued by Muhamad Aznil Bidin for the second gold, followed by Muhammad Erry Hidayat for the silver medal.
“I believe the momentum brought by our weightlifting athletes will be able to give encouragement to our athletes in other sports, so that they will be able to give their best performance.
“And I hope we can achieve many more gold medals after this,” he said when met after a dinner in conjunction with the Perak Amateur Open Golf Tournament at the Royal Perak Golf Club last night.
