Perak Wins Best State House Award At MAHA 2022

The Perak Pavilion emerged as the winner of the Best State House Award in conjunction with the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism (MAHA) Exhibition 2022 yesterday.

Chairman of the Rural Development, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Dato’ Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin said winning the championship for the 5th time since 2012, is an injection of enthusiasm to continue being productive in the Perak tourism industry.

“This success has raised the spirit for us to work more productively and creatively in ensuring that the tourism sector in the state of Perak advances to a higher level,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI), Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee said, MAHA 2022 has managed to attract more than 1.4 million visitors, with 1.2 million being physical visitors and 266,000 being virtual visitors.

“MAHA has also recorded sales of more than RM260 million including direct sales, online sales and business matching involving eight marketing companies from abroad,” he explained in his speech in conjunction with the MAHA 2022 Closing Ceremony at the Malaysian Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS) yesterday.

First place saw Perak bringing home a cash prize of RM 7,000. Second place, won by the state of Selangor, was worth RM5,000. The third place was won by the state of Kedah who received RM3,000.

Also present were, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry I, Datuk Seri Hj Ahmad Hamzah; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry II, Datuk Dr. Nik Muhammad Zawawi Haji Salleh and Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI), Dato’ Haslina Abdul Hamid.
