KTMB And The Treasure @ Taman Herba Collaborate To Empower Perak’s Ecotourism

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) established a partnership with The Treasure @ Taman Herba to empower the ecotourism industry in the state of Perak and is part of one of KTMB’s initiatives to promote rail tourism.

Chief Executive Officer of KTMB Group, Datuk Mohd. Rani Hisham Samsudin said that through this collaboration, they would also be able to attract tourists from Singapore and Thailand to visit interesting places in Peninsular Malaysia.

“KTMB is the main public transport option in the Peninsula with one of its stations being Batu Gajah Station near The Treasure @ Taman Herba.

“Among the ecotourism products that are attractions are all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), kayaking, cycling, petting zoos, aquaponic sites and many more.

“It is expected to attract more tourists to visit Perak,” he told reporters after the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony.

The MoU was signed between KTMB, represented by Mohd. Rani with the Managing Director of The Treasure @ Taman Herba, Eidia Erriany Abdul Rahim.

Present to witness the ceremony was the Chairman of the Perak State Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi.

This MoU includes proposals for cooperation through rail tourism packages to promote Batu Gajah Station as a transit to The Treasure @ Taman Herba and interesting locations in the vicinity, which includes locations such as Kellie’s Castle and Rumah Lat Dan Galeri.

The Treasure@Taman Herba is owned by the Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (SADC Perak) and has been through the process of development and refurbishment as well as new branding since November 2021.

It is under the management and funding of Proven Optimization Innovative Solutions (POIS), which highlights three main facets, which are education, community development and environmental preservation.

It is now ready to receive tourist visits from home and abroad.

Meanwhile, Nolee Ashilin said that through the collaboration, more new locations in the state of Perak, such as the upcoming Silverlakes Village Outlet, can be introduced to tourists from within and outside the country.
