The Ipoh City Community Integrated Sports Championship which was organised for the first time, opened its doors this afternoon in an atmosphere full of cheerfulness and sportsmanship.

This community sports event featured the participation of 24 zones under the Ipoh City Council (MBI), and was held in conjunction with the celebration of Malaysia Day 2022, in order to win the Perak YAB Menteri Besar Cup.

Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin binti Dato’ Mohammed Radzi said that the cooperation of all parties had translated into the success of the event, which was commendable.

She said the organisation of the tournament was part of an effort to achieve the objective of strengthening Malaysian family institutions based on community integration in Ipoh City.

“This also brings closer together the relationship between Councillors, MBI and the general public under the managed zone as well as increasing the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.

“Community participation can also create a healthy lifestyle in the community,” she said while speaking at the closing ceremony of the tournament.

“Hopefully this tournament will be a starting point to introduce community sports in strengthening friendship.

This tournament had attracted the participation of more than 1,000 participants representing the respective MBI zones.
