The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah together with nearly 10,000 people participated in the Sultan Nazrin Shah Birthday Run (LHKSNS) 2022, at Dataran Pavilion today.
Participating in the run was the princess of the Sultan of Perak, Raja Nazira Safya.
Also present were the State Government Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, the state Exco and Perak Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
Sultan Nazrin also agreed to release the running participants at 6.45 am for the 15 kilometre (km) category, which had 5,289 participants while the 10 km category had 3,124 participants.
The release of the guests of honour category involving a distance of 2.5 km was carried out by Sultan Nazrin’s younger sister, Raja Datuk Seri Yong Sofia.
Before leaving for home, His Majesty also agreed to attend a banquet and gift-giving ceremony.
This programme is in celebration of the 66th Birthday of the Sultan of Perak on November 4.
The organisation of this is also in resumption from two years of delay due to COVID-19.
This programme has entered its 10th edition with this year’s theme being the Collection of Iconic Buildings around Kuala Kangsar.
The LHKSNS concept still retains its uniqueness and will be followed up with various side events.
The participants will also be served with traditional food characterised by the unique culture of the various races in Kuala Kangsar.
In addition, along the running route, the participants will pass through the village area, where they will experience the rural atmosphere around Kuala Kangsar.
