More than 350,000 visitors attended the two-day Starvendors Foodstival programme at the Indera Mulia Stadium.

Menteri Besar, Datuk Saarani Mohamad said that although there was no event to celebrate the New Year, the Starvendors Foodstival programme was still well received, especially by the citizens of Ipoh.

“I understand that a total of RM682,000.00 in sales has been successfully recorded throughout the two days of this programme and it is expected that the sales collection will increase even more on the last day on January 1, 2023.

“The organisation of this event is the result of the collaboration between Tourism Perak, the Perak State Entrepreneurs Secretariat (STEP), the Ipoh City Council (MBI), Star Vendors Event Sdn Bhd and various agencies.

“It has been almost a year that we have been in the endemic phase and the time has come for us to take steps again to create excellence and forget all the bitterness when we are dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Hopefully the state of Perak will continue to progress, especially in all sectors so that the economy can recover for the sake of common prosperity,” he said in a speech in conjunction with the Starvendors Foodstival X#TravelPeraklah 2022 Programme and the Launching Ceremony of the Visit Ipoh Year 2023, last night.

Starvendors Foodstival takes place on 30 December 2022 until 1 January 2023. Operating from 9.00am to 12.00pm.

A total of 118 entrepreneurs from all over the country made this programme a success. Various products were exhibited and managed to attract the attention of visitors, especially products produced by celebrities of the country.

At the same time, Saarani also presented three recipients of the PPPNP Interest Free Loan and two received the Asnaf Berjaya Programme Grant.
