PPKP issued 35 Notices for the offence of smoking in prohibited areas

From January 1, 2023 until January 4, 2023, a total of 10 Assistant Environmental Health Officers (PPKP) and authorised officers from PKD Kinta have carried out law enforcement activities under the Tobacco Products Control Regulations 2004 (PPKHT 2004) around the District Kinta.

This activity is to ensure that the community always obeys the ban on smoking in non-smoking areas, especially in food premises.

Several local premises were visited and it was found that there are still people who do not comply with the smoking ban. A total of 35 notices of offence have been issued against the individuals, which carries a compound value of RM250 for each notice issued.

Enforcement activities will continue to be enhanced and the community is asked to always comply with the ban.
