KAMUNTING: More than 30 houses in Kampung Batu 5 were flooded following flash floods due to continuous heavy rain that occurred this afternoon.
According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department’s (JBPM) Operations Chief, Senior Fire Officer II, Jamil Mat Isa, said members of the Kamunting Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the location after receiving a report at 8.35 pm.
“There are 20 to 30 houses flooded due to heavy rain.
“Some victims have been evacuated, however, the temporary evacuation centre has not been opened for now,” he told reporters on Saturday.
He said that the rescue operation is still being carried out and any further information will be communicated from time to time.
