3 injured including women and kid in a house fire

AYER TAWAR: Three were injured, including a woman and a kid, in a fire incident at a residence in Lorong 8, Taman Dinding here today.

Operations Commander, Khairul Basri Sulaiman said, the Ayer Tawar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received a call to inform about the incident at 9.48am before members rushed to the location.

“When arrived at the scene of the incident, it was found that there was a fire involving a residential house.

“There are three victims, a 28-year-old man, a 34-year-old woman and a 4-year-old girl,” he said in a statement here today.

According to him, the male victim suffered leg injuries while the female victim and child suffered minor injuries.

“The victim was taken out by the fire department and then handed over to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) ambulance for further action,” he said.

He said, members acted using a 200-foot-high hose stream with two jets from a fire hydrant water source.

“The fire extinguishing operation also got help from BBP Sitiawan members and Ayer Tawar Volunteer Fire Brigade (PBS).

“The fire was completely extinguished and the entire operation ended at 1.30pm,” he said.
