IPOH – Opening of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) drive-through counter in Kuala Kangsar will benefit the 150,000 residents in the area and the people in the state of Perak in general.

This is the fourth drive-thru counter after Penang, Sabah and Negeri Sembilan which was first introduced in 2021.

Four types of services are offered through the counter, namely renewal of driver’s license and vehicle license, exchange of probationary driver’s license and payment of summons.

JPJ Director General, Datuk Zailani Hashim said, the opening of the drive-through counter involved an allocation of RM360,000 including equipment.

“Since the implementation of this service last month from March 1 to 31, it has collected RM256,000,” he said.

He said this initiative reflects the government’s continuous efforts to respond to the people who want a variety of appropriate services.

The opening of this drive-through counter will be an additional service to the existing counter services in addition to kiosks and JPJ Mobile services.
