by Anne Das

In the spirit of kindness and togetherness this Ramadan, Quest International University hosted a special iftar gathering for children under the care of Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah at the AEON Mall Klebang here today.

A total of 80 children and 16 staff from the home attended the gathering—the latest in QIU’s ongoing initiatives to make an impact in the local community. The iftar was initiated and organized by the university’s Student Life Division and Student Representative Council.

Led by QIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Zita Mohd Fahmi, QIU Chief Operating Officer Nicholas Goh, and QIU Registrar Muhammad MG Omar, the university staff and students had an enjoyable time interacting with the children.

The youth, aged between three and 19 years old, were served with a delicious, diverse iftar meal, as well as the customary duit raya and festive goodies. To promote a healthy lifestyle, QIU also donated a  variety of sports equipment to the home. Attendees were also treated to two performances from the children.

Chief Operating Officer Nicholas Goh said, “Festivals are all about celebrating together, and we hope our humble gesture will make our guests’ Ramadan merrier. We are inspired and touched by the good work done by Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah, and this is our way of thanking them.”

“Today’s event is not only about breaking fasts. Instead, it’s also about breaking boundaries. It’s exciting to engage and get to know these youths, as we may be in the position to offer them opportunities to achieve their future goals.”
