Special Ops to ensure the safety of road users

IPOH: A total of 1,984 vehicles were inspected in the Ops Khas Motosikal in conjunction with the Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri Tahun 2023 at Jalan Kuala Kangsar here last night.

Of that total, 275 summonses have been issued.

A total of 262 offenses were detected and action taken while 25 vehicles were seized in last night’s operation.

The operation of the Perak State Road Transport Department (JPJ) focuses on the enforcement of motorcyclists including driving license checks.

The operation which started at 8pm involved 20 members of various related agencies including the police, the Immigration Department and the Environment Department led by the Director of the JPJ Enforcement Division, Datuk Lokman Jamaan.

According to him, also checked are expired motor vehicle licences, vehicle modifications and other offences.

“JPJ will continue to carry out enforcement activities to ensure that the level of compliance with road regulations continues to increase.

“This is also to create a safe road environment in Malaysia for all road users,” he said.
