By: Zaki Salleh

TELUK INTAN – A solution will be found to overcome the problem of the lack of parking spaces at Hospital Teluk Intan.

For that, an allocation of almost RM1 million will be requested to carry out the road upgrading project involved.

Member of the Pasir Bedamar State Legislative Assembly, Woo Kah Leong, said the issue was of concern to him and Teluk Intan Member of Parliament, Nga Kor Ming.

He said that he and ‘Kor Ming’ had conducted a survey before and found that the issue had plagued the people of Teluk Intan all this time.

“The parking space at Teluk Intan Hospital is limited which is less than 300 spaces.

“Every day a total of 650 patients will deal with the hospital not including 1,000 hospital staff.

“This causes congestion. Many have to park their vehicles next to Jalan Changkat Jong to deal with the hospital,” he said.

The upgrade works involve the parking lot behind the ward which is currently in a state of disrepair.

With those improvements, it is expected to add about 300 more parking spaces after the project is implemented.
