Explorace 2023: 65 Teams Set to Compete

IPOH – A total of 195 participants from 65 teams are gearing up to compete for the championship title in the upcoming Explorace 2023, scheduled to take place tomorrow.

The President of the Ipoh City Sports Club (KSDBI), Radin Afifi Ahmad Aruani, mentioned that this year’s response has exceeded expectations compared to the previous year’s event in 2022.

“The Explorace 2023 marks the third edition organized by KSDBI, and this year’s participation not only includes residents of Perak but also participants from Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

“This edition of explorace poses greater challenges as participants are required to complete various tasks at eight checkpoints located around the city of Ipoh.

“All participants are expected to be flagged off by the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ MD Daud, at 8:30 am in front of the MBI building,” he stated during the Explorace 2023 briefing session held at the MBI Operations Room today.

The champion team will win a cash prize of RM1,500, while the first runner-up will receive RM800, the third-placed team RM500, and the fourth-placed team RM200. A lucky draw will also be conducted before the prize-giving ceremony.

Simultaneously, KSDBI is also organizing the Ipoh City Football Festival to compete for the Datuk Bandar Trophy 2023.

 

The Tournament Manager, Awal Hadi Roslan, mentioned that the football festival involves participants under the age of 12.

“This football festival is organized to provide opportunities and experiences for children to play football within the stadium.

“A total of 32 teams will participate in this tournament. The participation includes teams from all over Malaysia such as Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Selangor.

“MBI will be sending two teams. Each team will consist of 15 players, including substitutes. Spectators will witness 9-a-side matches.

“The champion team will win a cash prize of RM3,000, medals, and a commemorative trophy, while the first runner-up will receive RM2,000, and the third-placed team RM1,000,” he added.

The organization of the Explorace 2022 program and the Ipoh City Football Festival is in conjunction with the 35th Anniversary Celebration of Ipoh City.
