Bus hit the back of lorry, driver injured

TAIPING: A man was injured after the bus he was driving hit the back of a lorry at Kilometre 231 of the North South Highway (PLUS), heading north here today.

According to the Assistant Director of the Operations Division of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the victim identified as Muhammad Alwin Harun, 33, was trapped and injured in the face.

He said that his party received an emergency call regarding the incident at 4.59am before members of the Taiping Fire and Rescue Station went to the location.

“However, it is understood that there were no passengers on the bus,” he told reporters through a statement today.

Therefore, he said, the fire department had no difficulty carrying out the work of removing the victim and  handiñg over to the Malaysian Ministry of Health for treatment.
