PANGKOR – The ‘Semarak Jalur Gemilang’ event for the state of Perak in 2023 took place at the Public Jetty of Pangkor Island.
The purpose was to enlighten the community about the significance of independence and to foster a culture of love for the country.
In line with the celebration of independence month, the public was invited to hoist the National Flag, symbolising their affection for the nation.
Furthermore, this programme aimed to realise the ‘Malaysia Madani, Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan’ (Civilized Malaysia, Unity’s Determination Fulfills Hope) slogan.
The event was attended by the District Officer of Manjung, Shamsul Ridzuan Idris, and the Director of Information for the state of Perak, Mohd Rizal Hashim.
As part of this programme, a walkabout around Pangkor town was also conducted, involving traders and the general public.
Following that was the Independence Convoy flagged off by the Pangkor Island Taxi Association.
