IPOH: The Perak state government has approved a total of RM7 million as a special allocation to support efforts and early preparations for Visit Perak Year 2024 (TMP 2024).

This amount is in addition to the annual budget allocation of RM3.5 million that has been used for promotional purposes.

Tourism, Industry, Investment, and State Corridor Development Exco, Loh Sze Yee, stated that the allocation is believed to facilitate various preparations.

Furthermore, he said, the state government has also received full support from the Federal Government through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture with an additional provision of RM10 million.

“Therefore, the allocation provided for tourism development expenditures for the state of Perak has exceeded RM20 million.

“The stated cost covers entire districts within the state of Perak,” he said.

This allocation also does not take into account the efforts of other government agencies.

Among them, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad has launched the KTM Komuter train service between Ipoh and Butterworth, with three new stations in Ipoh, Sungai Siput, and Kuala Kangsar being inaugurated to welcome the efforts of TMP2024.
