YTL Cement and Kuala Kangsar Vocational College Celebrate National Environment Day

KUALA KANGSAR – Kuala Kangsar Vocational College (KVKK) has partnered with BUILDS, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of YTL Cement, to raise awareness of sustainable environmental practices and recycling.

This program is supported by the Perak State Department of Agriculture and the Perak State Department of Environment.

Various activities were organised with the aim of increasing awareness, addressing environmental pollution, and promoting sustainable lifestyles among students.

Dato’ Halimah Hassan, Director of YTL Cement, stated that for several years, YTL Cement and its subsidiaries have been proud to collaborate with the state of Perak in the development of the region.

“We are also very pleased to participate in this year’s National Environment Day celebration, which involves the state government, educational institutions, and industry players.

This is an important social responsibility to ensure a greener future for the generations to come,” she said.

The program’s opening ceremony was officiated by the Director of the Perak State Department of Environment, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Mohammad Ezzani Mat Salleh.

As a result of the collaboration of various parties, a total of 5,279 kilograms of waste materials were successfully collected and recycled during this program.

BUILDS also donated three sets of recycling bins to be placed in the college area to encourage recycling practices among students and lecturers.
