Tuanku Zara Salim demonstrated proficiency at the PERKEP shooting competition

KUALA LUMPUR: The Queen of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, graciously participated in a shooting competition organized by the Malaysian Police Family Association (PERKEP) at Lapang Sasar Briged Tengah, Pasukan Gerakan Am, Kuala Lumpur.

This was in conjunction with the National Sports Day (#HSN2023) celebrated nationwide.

Her Majesty’s arrival was welcomed by the Chairwoman of PERKEP Malaysia, Puan Sri Zainah Othman, who is also the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, along with the Chairpersons of PERKEP in the Royal Malaysia Police Department (PDRM).

A total of 150 participants from various PDRM departments and contingents took part in two categories: ‘Falling Plate’ and ‘Centre Fire.’

In the ‘Falling Plate’ event, the champion was the Palace team, while the runner-up was the PERKEP Malaysia team, and third place went to the PERKEP Sabah Contingent.

Meanwhile, in the ‘Centre Fire’ event, ASP Kamsiah Kasmuddin from the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department of PERKEP was the champion, ASP Noor Sahara Ngah @ Mokhtar from the KL Contingent of PERKEP was the runner-up, and third place Sergeant Erma Fawira Ilias from the Terengganu Contingent of PERKEP.

The title of the best marksman was awarded to ASP Suriyantee Abd Hamid from the Penang Contingent of PERKEP.

Her Majesty presented the winners with their respective prizes.

The organization of this event not only tested the shooting skills of the participants but also responded to the government’s call for promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Also present were the wife of the Menteri Besar Perak, Datin Seri Aezer Zubin; wife of the Treasurer of Perak, Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Rasiah Md Nor, Chairpersons of PERKEP Contingents, PERKEP members, and senior PDRM officers.
