KVWO Press Start Concert a Rousing Victory

by KT Leong

Kinta Valley Wind Orchestra (KVWO) successfully held their two-day “Press Start” concert at Auditorium RTM last weekend.

Ipoh Echo had the privilege of covering the second day of the concert, which was a special themed event with all the performers in various costumes. Even some of the audience came, all dressed up.

From video game characters like Mario, Luigi and even the emcee as Toad, to horror costumes ahead of Halloween such as one of the conductors as Dracula and an actual fake skeleton stationed with a cello. The goal for the concert was fun as everyone played up their characters in-between performances.

The first arrangement was a medley of game and anime music, followed by assorted game and popular franchise music. The hours whiled away quickly for the packed audience.

KVWO are filled with enthusiasts from all walks of life, who love their craft and perform at high standards. They hold performances both for the community interest and to maintain their operations. For which YB Howard Lee Chuan How showed support by presenting them with RM15,000 in support of their fine works in promoting art and culture to the community. Stick with Ipoh Echo and we’ll keep you up to date on their future performances.
