Motorcycle rider killed in accident, public urged to come forward with information

MANJUNG: The public with information about a fatal accident involving a motorcyclist at kilometer 1, Kampung Penchalang Road, here, is urged to channel it to the police.

The Chief of Police of Manjung District, ACP Mohamed Nordin Abdullah, stated that they received information about a road accident involving a motorcycle that skidded on its own last Friday (November 17), at 3:52 in the afternoon.

He said the preliminary investigation found that the victim was an 18-year-old male riding a Honda RS 150 motorcycle.

“The motorcycle ridden by the victim was moving from Lekir towards Seri Manjung. Upon reaching the scene, it was raining and it is suspected that the victim lost control skidded and fell on the road.

“The motorcycle rider suffered severe injuries and passed away in the emergency ward at Hospital Seri Manjung,” he said in a statement last night.

Mohamed Nordin added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
