IPOH: The full opening of the Silverlakes Village Outlet’s (SVO) commercial area on December 15 is poised to bring new economic potential to the state of Perak.

Not limited to Batu Gajah, the surrounding areas are also expected to benefit, particularly in connection with tourism.

Describing this development as highly anticipated, Khalilah Khalid, the marketing manager of a private company, stated that SVO would also contribute a fresh coat of paint to the state of Perak.

She believes that the uniqueness of SVO’s location, surrounded by a lake, adds value to its appeal.

“Many of my acquaintances, including those in the Klang Valley, Johor, and Sabah, have inquired about SVO after reading news about it.

“I am confident that when SVO is fully opened, it will become a focal point, especially for shopping,” she remarked.

For public relations executive Jeffrey Cheah, the opening of SVO diversifies the locations drawing public attention; away from Ipoh.

He noted that Batu Gajah and its surrounding areas are not only attractive but also boast a multitude of dining options, which are essential when visiting any place.

“Perhaps the state government should consider introducing a new train from Ipoh to Batu Gajah to facilitate travel.

“It’s not impossible because trains represent the future of transportation,” he added.
