IPOH: The Ministry of Local Government and Housing Development (KPKT) through the Department of Urban and Rural Planning (PLANMalaysia) has organized a Pre-launch of the Camping Site Planning Guidelines (GPP) at Taman DR Seenivasagam here.

The establishment of GPP aims to provide guidance for camping site planning and clarify the camping site development process.

It will also serve as a guide for the management and operation of camping sites for authorities, site owners, operators and the public.

The Minister, Nga Kor Ming, stated that the main scope of these guidelines includes camping site planning, development mechanisms and supervision of camping sites, as well as camping site operation management.

“It outlines several crucial elements in camping site planning, including location suitability, site appropriateness, tent plot placement, provision of basic facilities, and the provision of suitable utilities for the development of a camping site.

“The provision of these guidelines is hoped to be used as a guide and reference for all stakeholders in ensuring the development of camping sites.

“It prioritizes sustainability and public safety through comprehensive development and supervision procedures,” he said.

He emphasized that the ministry believes the matters that need to be reviewed are not significant and will conduct reviews before submitting them to the Cabinet meeting for further discussion.
