Police hunt man who stabbed noodle seller in the restaurant

IPOH: Police are actively hunting a male suspect who stabbed a trader with a knife at a restaurant in Taman Cemerlang Rapat here yesterday.

Ipoh District Police Chief, ACP Yahaya Hassan, said that on Saturday, they discovered viral videos and images on Facebook depicting the incident.

He stated that further investigation revealed the incident occurred on Saturday around 6 am.

“The victim is a 44-year-old man running a noodle restaurant at the establishment, and the suspect is an unknown customer.

“The victim suffered injuries to the abdomen due to being stabbed with a knife by the suspect.

“He is now in stable condition after undergoing surgery at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here,” he told reporters here today.

Meanwhile, Yahaya said a police report has been filed and the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code (causing injuries with a knife).

Therefore, he said, the police are actively tracking the suspect who is still at large to assist in the investigation.

He also urged the public with any information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting the District Control Room (DCC) at the Ipoh District Police Headquarters at 05-254 2222.
