The allocation of RM384.1 million will benefit the people and targeted groups

IPOH: The Perak Budget 2024 prioritizes the people, allocating RM384.1 million under the focus of People’s Well-being.

The budget, themed ‘Prosperous Perak, Prosperous People,’ centers on five main focuses: people’s well-being, governance of priority projects, environmental sustainability, food supply assurance, and human capital and youth development.

Commenting on the allocation, Exco for Women’s Development, Family, Social Welfare, Entrepreneurship and Cooperatives, Dato’ Salbiah Mohamed, described it as the state government’s concern.

“RM384.1 million is allocated under the focus of People’s Well-being, a priority for the Perak State Government.

“The significant increase in the People’s Well-being focus reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns and needs of the people as the foundation of the budget.

“I and the entire team will fulfill this trust and commitment to the best of our ability. We will do our best,” she said.

Last Friday, Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad presented RM1.35 billion in the State Budget 2024, marking the highest allocation in the state’s history.

  • Department of Social Welfare RM42.8 million
  • Women’s Secretariat RM1.9 million
  • Perak State Entrepreneur Secretariat RM1.3 million
  • Food Box Aid Program RM5 million
  • Entrepreneur Fund Loan Program (Perak Foundation) RM2 million
  • Empowerment Program for Women and Communities RM1 million
  • Perak Welfare Card RM24 million
  • Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development RM1 million
  • Elderly Assistance Program RM0.2 million
  • Child Welfare and Orphan Development RM0.8 million
  • Tabarru Death Benefit Program RM4 million.
