The Educational, Welfare & Research Foundation (EWRF) Ipoh Branch, distributed food rations to a needy family in the Gunung Rapat area yesterday. Under the leadership of EWRF Ipoh Branch Chairman, Mr. Sylverster Dhas and the committee members, and thanks to the generosity of sponsors, these efforts are expected to continue in the coming months.
It is hoped that such contributions will reduce the burden of this family in need.
EWRF visited this family consisting of a mother and son living alone, on December 11.
The mother is a widow whose husband passed away due to illness. She is 73 years of age and suffers from spondylitis, which is an inflammatory disease that can cause bones in the spine to fuse and possibly result in hunching and difficulty in breathing.
Her only son is a person with disability (OKU) who had suffered a stroke, and as a result, is currently not working.
The EWRF Ipoh Branch chairman and committee visited the family, alongside Ms. Vronika Sebastian, the EWRF Ipoh Branch Assistant Secretary and Mr. Prabhakaran, the branch treasurer.
