LUMUT: The success of organising the Royale Fiesta Lumut Foodie Town at Dataran Teluk Batik during the New Year celebration has revived Teluk Batik as an event location.

Looking at the response, similar events will be planned in the future to promote Teluk Batik.

Member of the Pangkor State Assembly, Norhaslinda Zakaria, stated that the attendance of thousands of visitors throughout the carnival was surprising, indicating the successful organisation of the event.

She said that because there hadn’t been any major celebration events in Teluk Batik for a long time, this was the first programme of its kind.

“People, especially the local community, were seen taking the opportunity to come and liven up the event.

“This is also something positive in the effort to provide attractions for the public and promote Teluk Batik.

“Therefore, we plan to organise similar events in the future, for example, during Independence Day celebrations and school holidays,” she said.

The launch of the celebration was officiated by the President of the Manjung Municipal Council, Syamsul Hazeman Md Salleh.

Norhaslinda further clarified that gratitude was also extended to the Manjung Municipal Council, the organisers of the Royal Fiesta and the sponsors involved.
