SUNGAI SIPUT: The Grand Clock Tower of Sungai Siput, which stands as one of the historical monuments here, has been given a new look.

This follows the completion of maintenance and relocation works.

The state government has allocated special funds to enhance this historical monument as part of the Perak Visit Year (TMP) 2024 attractions.

Now, the clock not only rings every hour but also adds beauty to the landscape of Sungai Siput.

Visitors during the day can experience the historical value of the clock tower.

If you visit at night, the tower adorned with colorful lights will captivate your sight.

This tower brings a creative concept to revitalize the town’s history, making it another tourist attraction in Sungai Siput.

Located on the main road, the clock tower proudly displays the words ‘Merdeka 1957’ on its body.

Similar to the clock tower in Kampar, the construction of the clock in Sungai Siput is evidence of the unity of its residents, contributing funds collectively.

On January 20, 1958, the first Prime Minister of the Federation of Malaya at that time, Tunku Abdul Rahman, inaugurated the Sungai Siput clock tower.

This clock tower stands as a historical legacy for future generations, symbolizing the pride of the people of Sungai Siput.
