LENGGONG: Two local participants showcased their excellence by winning the International Geopark Run Lenggong Half Marathon 2024 in the Women’s Open category.
Navy officer, Lieutenant Commander Arina Adzahar emerged as the champion, while the second place went to Class I Warrior Siti Nor Atasar Roslan.
Arina also received the title of Best Athlete in the Navy at the recent Mini Olympic Championship in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
International Geopark Run at Lenggong Geopark, held at Dataran Tasik Raban, Lenggong, successfully attracted over 500 participants.
In addition to local participants, it also included international runners from countries such as Kenya, Indonesia, Vietnam, and more.
The run was divided into three categories: 21km, 10km, and 5km. Participants from Kenya secured the first and second positions, while a participant from Myanmar claimed the third spot in the 21km event.
Aside from the competitive aspect of the run, participants had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lenggong.
Previously, the release of participants was officiated by Lenggong Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, who also holds the position of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.
