Certified Geopark Guides Serve at Geopark Sites

IPOH: A total of 17 certified Geopark guides from the Kinta Valley Geopark – Batch 1 have completed and passed the Eco-Host course organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC).

This certification serves as a prerequisite for licensing as a site guide.

Eco-Host Malaysia, introduced by MOTAC, aims to raise awareness among the public about the need to conserve and preserve the environment.

It seeks to educate the public about the current environmental situation and how human activities impact natural ecosystems.

This program is carried out in collaboration with relevant agencies, particularly the Department of Minerals and Geosciences Malaysia (JMG), to promote the development of Geoguides within the National Geopark.

Geoguides play a crucial role in promoting the uniqueness of the Geopark by imparting knowledge about geology and the environment to visitors.

Visitors interested in experiencing the uniqueness of the Kinta Valley Geopark on a deeper level while travelling should seek the services of trained Geoguides.
