LUMUT: A total of 10 children of military personnel have received MADANI Education Contributions amounting to RM50 as a one-off payment into their National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN Prime) accounts.

Additionally, welfare assistance in the form of a one-off contribution of RM300 by the Armed Forces Fund Board Foundation (YLTAT) was provided to 20 recipients among members or heirs suffering from chronic illnesses.

These contributions reflect the government’s concern in efforts to help alleviate the burden of Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) personnel in their daily lives.

The contributions were presented by the Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, during a visit to the TLDM Lumut Base.

He also proposed a replica check amounting to RM38.04 million for the maintenance of quarters and accommodation blocks at the TLDM Lumut Base for the year 2024.

This involves 5 blocks of residences for officers and other ranks at the TLDM Lumut Base.

During the visit, he was briefed on the status of maintenance of TLDM Lumut Base quarters, including upgrading projects for family housing blocks.

Briefings were also given on maintenance of various classes of family housing within the base.
